
Jason Minnix joined BMP Radio in January 2008 to co-host the afternoon drive show with Chris Duel on ESPN 1250 The Zone, which premiered in February 2008. He's on the air, weekdays from 3p-7p.
Jason has worked in the San Antonio radio market since 1993, bringing 15 years of experience to ESPN 1250 The Zone. He has covered the San Antonio Spurs on a regular basis since 1997, as well as every major sporting event in San Antonio over the last decade. In addition, Jason has covered the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raiders as well as major sporting events including Super Bowl XXXVIII, NBA All Star games, MLB All Star Games and NCAA Final Fours.
He is a regular contributor to nationally syndicated Sporting News Radio, is the television play by play voice of UTSA Roadrunner basketball and Smithson Valley High School Football.
Prior to joining the team at ESPN 1250 The Zone, Jason anchored sports weekday mornings and hosted a weekly sports show on AM 930 KLUP from 2005-2007. In addition, he also hosted a show during Cowboys training camp with Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton. Jason worked at New Braunfels radio stations KNBT-FM and KGNB-AM from 1997-2005. He co-hosted the "Jody and Jason Morning Show" on KNBT 92.1FM and anchored sports and hosted a sports talk show on AM1420 KGNB. He also handled all the stations high school play by play, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and even one soccer game. Jason also served as the Public Relations Director and radio announcer for the now defunct San Antonio Iguanas hockey team and was the Program Director of KENS AM1160 from 1994-1996.
After serving in the U.S. Navy as the Public Affairs Officer on the USS Seattle (AOE 3), Jason moved to San Antonio in 1993 and began his radio career at KTSA AM550, where he started anchoring overnight news and producing the morning show. Jason and his wife have a 10-year-old daughter.
